Goa Inaugurates a New World-Class Expo & Convention Centre

Goa has marked a significant milestone in its infrastructure and business tourism development with the inauguration of a new world-class Expo and Convention Centre in South Goa. The facility, located at the ONGC Advanced Training Institute (ATI), Betul, was officially inaugurated on 8 February 2026 and is set to enhance Goa’s presence in India’s growing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector

Traditionally known as a leisure and tourism destination, Goa is now strengthening its position as a year-round hub for business events, exhibitions, and international conferences. The newly inaugurated centre reflects this strategic shift, offering modern event infrastructure supported by the state’s strong hospitality ecosystem.

Modern Infrastructure for Large-Scale Events

The new Expo and Convention Centre features a 4,000-seat state-of-the-art convention hall, designed to accommodate large national and international gatherings. Alongside the main hall, the facility includes dedicated exhibition space, meeting rooms, VIP lounges, and corporate facilities suitable for trade fairs, product launches, industry summits, cultural events, and award ceremonies.

Built to global standards, the venue offers flexibility for multiple event formats and scales, making it suitable for both business-focused and high-profile public events.

Strategic Location and Connectivity

Situated along the coastline in South Goa, the centre benefits from a scenic setting while remaining well connected. The facility offers multi-modal access, including road connectivity, sea access via a jetty, and a helipad, ensuring ease of movement for delegates, speakers, and dignitaries.

Its proximity to leading hotels and resorts further strengthens its appeal as a destination venue, enabling organisers to combine professional events with leisure and hospitality experiences.

Boost to Goa’s MICE and Business Tourism

The inauguration of this Expo and Convention Centre represents a major boost for Goa’s MICE tourism sector. By offering large-scale, modern event infrastructure, the state is positioned to attract:

  • National and international conferences
  • Trade exhibitions and industry expos
  • Corporate meetings and incentive programs
  • Cultural and entertainment events

This development is expected to generate increased business opportunities across hospitality, travel, event management, logistics, and allied services, contributing to regional economic growth.

A New Chapter for Events in Goa

With the launch of this world-class facility, Goa takes a decisive step towards becoming a competitive destination for global business events and exhibitions. The new Expo and Convention Centre not only expands the state’s event infrastructure but also reinforces Goa’s ambition to be a preferred venue for high-impact, large-scale events in India.

As demand for destination-based conferences and exhibitions continues to rise, this new centre is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Goa’s business and events ecosystem.
